
June 12, 1928 – March 14, 2015. Born in Lyndhurst, VA to Winfield Scott Huntley, Jr. and Emily Jane Ellis Huntley. Preceded in death by his infant daughter Sally Ann and his sister, Jane Huntley Frampton. Wally is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Powers Huntley; his daughter, Sue H. Bach and husband, Matt; his son, Scott Powers Huntley and wife, Colleen; and granddaughters Laura and Lizzie Bach and Meredith and Miranda Huntley. Also survived by nephews and nieces Jim Frampton and wife Sharon, Nancy Frampton, Jack Frampton, Mike Powers and wife Sandy, Jack Powers and wife Lori, Doug Powers and wife Deb, Barbara Powers Trombitas and husband Tim, and their children and grandchildren. Raised in Mamaroneck, NY, he served for 2 years in the US Navy before attending St. Lawrence U. in Canton, NY. Currently a member of St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, Wally was a charter member of Glendale Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Oak Cliff Lions Club and an assistant coach for their boys’ baseball team. After retiring from the US Postal Service, he volunteered at Alexander Elementary School in Duncanville. In 1998 he was the recipient of the Friend of Education Award presented by the Dallas County Coordinating Council Presidents of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. A memorial service will be held March 28 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W. Belt Line Rd., Richardson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to St. Barnabas Church or a charity of your choice.
