Janelle "Jan" Daniel Allen

Janelle “Jan” Daniel Allen Age 83 of Cedar Hill, Texas, died unexpectedly at home on May 4th, 2017. Born in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, May 27, 1933 to Ada Bothwell Daniel & Arthur Harlan Daniel. She was the second child of four siblings, all residents of Dallas County and Native Texans. After graduation from North Dallas High School, Janelle married Robert Fontaine Williams in October 1949 and had 4 children during 16 years of marriage. On August 21st, 1971 she married Robert “Bob” Woodrow Allen and was married to him until his death on May 18, 2012. Janelle had many talents but her love for genealogy lead her to memberships in numerous organizations; Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Magna Carta Dames. She served as President of the American Legion – Women’s Auxiliary, at Post #81 in Duncanville, Texas for 12 terms. She recently retired after 30 years of service from the Duncanville Public Library. Janelle and Bob (the love of her life) took great joy in participating at annual July 4th parades with the American Legion and served many weekends as volunteers at the Dallas National Cemetery. She is proceeded in death by her mother Ada Daniel, father Arthur Daniel, brother Howard Daniel, and Husband Robert “Bob” Allen. She is survived by siblings - Nelda Jean Bray of Carrollton Texas and Gary Paul Daniel (Roy) of Pasadena California; children - Teresa Williams Godwin (Jim Godwin) of Boone, NC; Stephen Kelly Williams of Cedar Hill, Texas; Annette Williams Birchler (Ron Birchler) of Plano Texas; Shawn Kevin Williams of Cedar Hill, Texas and Becky Allen Kennemer (Mark Kennemer) of Cedar Hill, Texas; 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. A service will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home, 200 W. Center St. Duncanville, TX 75116. An Internment will follow at 2:00 pm at the Dallas National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
