Margie Jeannette (Peacock) McKenzie,
October 16, 1921-May 5, 2015
Margie Jeannette (Peacock) McKenzie, age 93, passed peacefully away in her Ennis, TX home of 50 years. She was a Dallas, TX native who relocated to Ennis in 1965.
She lived a very full and active life that was devoted to the Lord and her family. For decades she was a member and attended Anthony Drive Baptist Church in Ennis. She was also an accomplished cosmetologist, baker, oil painter and artist.
She grew up during the depression. Those times shaped her priorities, gave her character, a strong will, and a sense of determination. She in turn shaped the lives of generations of others with love, grace, and kindness. She loved to tell others colorful stories about her life growing up in the depression and between Austin and Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Milton Henry “Mack” McKenzie, Sr, son and daughter-in-law M.H. and Lois Ann McKenzie, Jr, grandson, Harry Dodge “H.D.” Fincher, Jr, great granddaughter, Lee Jordane Fincher, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Harry Dodge Fincher, Sr, a brother and sister-in-law Edward Dewey “E.D.” and Betty Peacock,, a brother and sister-in-law Harry and Margaret Selman, a sister and brother in law, Gayle and Larry Brooks, many other brothers and sisters –in-law, 6 granddaughters, 10 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Even in her heavenly home we will carry her always and with great affection in our hearts and in our minds, until we meet again.
