Opal Marie Ealey Bates

Opal Marie (Ealey) Bates, age 84, passed away on October 16, 2016. She was born in Waynoka, OK., and graduated from Waynoka High School. She was married for 61 years to Wilfred M Bates. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and ceramics. Opal was preceded in death by her husband Wil Bates, parents James E. and Florence R. Ealey, sisters baby Roberta Ealey, Evelyn Maxine (Ealey) Shutt, nephews Kenneth Myers and J.R. McKnight. She is survived by her three children, Deborah K. (Bates) Cavitt and husband Alan, Diana (Bates) Anderson, Fred Bates and wife Renea, along with five grandchildren, Jeff Cavitt and wife Sharon, Tiffany Wagner, Jonathan Cavitt, Thomas Bates, Heather Bates, and two great-grandsons, Ty Jacob & Cole Logan Cavitt. Sisters Wanda Jane (Ealey) McKnight, Clara LaVerne (Ealey) Myers and Elda Lou (Ealey) Taylor. Internment will be with her husband at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association.
