Lieutenant Colonel Richard David Long (“Donger”), USAF retired, beloved father, Paw Paw and big brother, age 68, passed away in Dallas, TX on March 2, 2020. He was born March 1, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to Patricia Craig Long and Richard Walter Long. He was a 1974 graduate of Southern Methodist University and served in the Air Force from 1975-1996, living his passion, flying the F4 “Phantom”, F16 “Fighting Falcon”, and retiring in 1996. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Marc Rodriguez, of Pearland TX, 2 grandchildren Ethan (his “Little Buddy”) & Emma (his “Sweet Pea”) Rawls, his brother Jeff Long, his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Randy Webb, his sister Patricia Long and several nieces, nephews and their spouses. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Patricia. Rick will be laid to rest in a graveside ceremony on March 12, 2020 at 1 PM at the National Cemetery in DFW.
