Richard Dudek

Peacefully in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in his 87th year. Richard, beloved husband of Rita. Loving father of Ingrid and her husband Warren Wilson, cherished Opa of Shayne (Tia) Heather Press (Ryan) and great grandfather of Aidan, Shawn and Breanne. Dear dad to Harry and his wife Chrysann and Grandpa to Natausha and Keegan. He is survived by his sisters Maria (Hans) and Lisebeth and brother Heinz (Christa) all of Germany. Predeceased by one sister and four brothers. Richard will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Elke (Hanshermann predeceased), Weibke (Fransceco), brother-in-law Walter (Irene) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was the former owner of Richard’s Jewellers on Barton Street for 30 years. Richard loved fishing, spending time at his cottage on Lake Erie, barbequing and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 615 Main Street East, (east of Sanford Ave.) Hamilton (905-528-6303) on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 1 p.m. until a Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Richard would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
