He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley R. McNeill and grandpa, Howard Lewis Chavis.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Louise Chavis; three children, Christian, Memphis and Shirley; his mother, Monica Lynn McNeill Cummings and bonus dad, Corey Cummings both of Shannon, NC; father, Donald Chavis of Lumberton, NC; one brother, Kendrick Chavis of Lumberton, NC; three sisters, Adrianna Chavis, Kylie and Tori Cummings all of Lumberton, NC; grandfather, James McNeill of Shannon, NC; uncle, Chesley McNeill and wife, Charla; two aunts, Beyonka Lewis and husband Phillip, Veronica Lynn Hensley and husband Brian; uncle, Billie Emanuel; and a host of family and friends.
A visitation for Eric will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Riverside Independent Baptist Church, 3644 US Hwy 74 West, Lumberton, NC. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM. A burial to follow service will occur Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Riverside Independent Baptist Church Cemetery, 3644 US Hwy 74 West, Lumberton, NC.
