Evan Hiram Gainey

Evan H. Gainey, age 33 of Gainey Rd., Dunn died on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Evan was born in Harnett County on November 11, 1986 and is the son of Sherrill D. Gainey and Lettie Honeycutt Gainey.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jessie & Rochelle Honeycutt, paternal grandfather, Hiram Coolidge Gainey, uncles, Gale Gainey & Richard Honeycutt and cousin, Justin Gainey.

Evan was a 2005 graduate of Midway High School and was very athletic playing baseball. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working outside. He was a Duke Fan.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 11:00 am at Spring Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Tim McQueen & Rev. Michael Worley officiating.

He is survived by: His Parents: Sherrill D. Gainey and Lettie Honeycutt Gainey of Dunn, NC.

Brother: Sherrill Gainey, Jr. of Dunn, NC; a twin brother, Eric Gainey & (wife) Christie of Dunn, NC.

Grandmother: Pearl Gainey of Dunn, NC

Aunts & Uncles: Donna Sue Owen & Bob of Dunn, NC; Olive Pulley & Jack of Godwin, NC; Jane Lewis of Hope Mills, NC; Brenda Honeycutt of Godwin, NC and Woody Honeycutt & Rosalynda of Dunn, NC

Cousins: Brittany Britt & Allen of Newton Grove, NC; Tony Pulley & Diane of Godwin, NC; Amanda McPhail of Louisville, Ky; Phillip Pulley & Jenny of Dunn, NC; Shannon Pulley of Godwin, NC

There will be a visitation at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Monday from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, the family will be present from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to Spring Branch Church Cemetery, 2391 N. Spring Branch Rd., Dunn, NC 28334.
