

Mr. Lauver was born on August 5, 1946, in Mifflin County, PA the son of the late Wilbur Carl Lauver and Jane Gill Lauver. His wife Mary Ann Tart Lauver also preceded him in death who passed away February 5, 2023. James was a loving husband who was dedicated to his wife for over 25 years.
Mr. Lauver proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received numerous medals and commendations prior to retiring.
He also retired from Goodyear Tire Company (Kelly Springfield) with over 20 plus years prior to retiring.
James was a simple, loving man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed a full house of people, but always very quiet and observant.
James loved watching dirt track racing at Fayetteville Motor Speedway and NASCAR on television. He was a pet lover, especially “Shygirl” his Chihuahua-Poodle mix. A cold Coca-Cola would always put a smile on his face.
James is survived by his daughters, Celestial Railey-Lauver, and fiancée, T.J. Faircloth, of Angier, NC, Son Dayne Railey-Lauver,of Erwin, NC; Step- daughter Cindy Tart, of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Dorothy Shaffer, of Mifflintown, PA; a brother David Lauver and wife, Linda, of Mifflintown, PA; a granddaughter, Amber Tart,of Linden, NC; two great-granddaughters, Destiny Faircloth, and Everleigh Faircloth; and a host friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends, on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home, in Dunn, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carlos Tillman and Rev. Charles Tillman officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, on Fort Bragg, NC.
