Joe was born on March 16, 1943 in Graham, NC the son of the late Joseph Henry Temple and Marian Lunsford Temple.
Joe was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was retired from Guilford Mills as a Human Resource Manager. After retirement Joe also worked part time with Tart’s Strawberry & Produce of Dunn.
Joe was a member of Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Superintendent, Sunday School Secretary and Teacher. He was a present Trustee and past Deacon. Joe was very active in the church always there to help others and be of service to the church in many ways. He loved cooking and feeding others, it was a passion of his.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Hodges Chapel Church with Rev. Michael Preddy, Kelvin Blackmon, Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Debbie Ivey Temple of the home.

The family will receive friends Wednesday Evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hodges Chapel Church and at other times at the home
