

Dunn, NC Mr. Raymond Lacey Strickland, age 86 of Alyssa Lane, Dunn died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his home. Mr. Strickland was born in Halifax County on November 11, 1929 the son of the late Charlie & Maggie Strickland and is preceded in death by a brother, Warren Strickland; a son, Durwood Strickland and a grandson, Byron Warren. He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church where he served in many capacities of the church. He retired in 1970 as a Logger, he believed in hard work and loved the wood working business and enjoyed fishing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Nowell officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.He is survived by: His Wife: Pearlean Strickland of the home. A Daughter: Diane Bissette & (husband) Ronald of the Dunn, NC; A Son: Ronald Strickland & (wife) Pam of Erwin, NC; 2 Brothers: Harold Strickland & (wife) Carolyn of Dunn, NC; W.C. Strickland & (wife) Janice of Dunn, NC; 2 Sisters: Doris Colville and Joyce Barefoot both of Dunn, NC; Grandchildren: Relaye Capps & (husband) Brad Capps; Lacey Strickland & (wife) Amy; David Strickland; Aaron Strickland & (wife) Lindsey & David Bissette; Great Grandchildren: Alyssa Keeler Walker & (husband) Chris, Chris Keeler, Talon Keeler and Brodie Warren; The Family will receive friends Tuesday Evening, November 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
