

Brendan was the beloved son of Honor Carroll Martin (nee Sams) and the late William J. Martin PhD.; loving brother of Meghan (Richard) Rys; also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brendan was a beloved member of the community and a dedicated public servant, leaving behind a legacy of courage and compassion. Brendan was a 1999 magna cum laude graduate of Niagara University, where he laid the foundation for his exceptional academic and professional achievements. In 2015, he earned his Master of Science degree in Public Government Administration from the University of Arizona, showcasing his commitment to lifelong learning and public service.
His career was marked by distinction and bravery. Brendan began as a Border Patrol Agent in Nogales, Arizona, where he was instrumental in conducting line watch patrols. His heroic efforts earned him a Valor Award for his role in rescue operations, saving lives in critical and life-threatening situations.
Brendan later joined the United States Secret Service, where he performed dual investigative and protective missions. His dedication to his country was matched by his commitment to community service. As a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Service Group in Tucson, Arizona, Brendan gave back to those in need with unwavering generosity and kindness.
In his later years, Brendan pursued his passion for writing as a freelance author. He completed a manuscript that detailed the training of Border Patrol agents in the post-9/11 era, a testament to his expertise and first-hand experiences.
Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Brendan was a passionate supporter of Notre Dame Football and the Buffalo Bills. A lover of history and nonfiction historical literature, Brendan had an insatiable curiosity about the past. His fascination with maritime ships and the beauty of lakes and seas reflected his deep appreciation for the world’s natural wonders.
Brendan’s life reflected his integrity, bravery, and a deep sense of community. He leaves behind family, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory and the indelible mark he made on their lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4th, 12:00PM at All Saints RC Church, 76 Church St., Lockport NY. Interment will be private.
