I think this was from 2015 when John Legend came to UB. What a fun night !

There are so many great memories working with Jim at M&T . He was one of a kind! We had a great team and had lots of good times together 

I got him doing “awkward turtle” years ago at work which was supposed to just be the hand motion but when something awkward happened or got said he’d say “awkward turtle”  out loud and it was always hilarious what a guy , he will be missed

I caught Jimmy with a slight gaffe in this picture and kept in case I needed to defend from a practical.

Jim loved competition, even kids games.  He was great with our kids

Jim was one of the really good ones.  I will miss you, my friend!  It was on rocking chairs in Ellicottville that we discovered we shared the same passion for BBQ, Tex-Mex, and Cajun cuisine, and from that day forward we had a special connection.  We shared stories of our kids (all three about the same age), and what new hole-in-the-wall restaurant finds we’d discovered, and all things meats!  Jim turned me on to Chap’s Pit Beef in Baltimore, Smoke on the Water in Tonawanda, and got me a back-of-the-house tour of Giancarlo’s in Williamsville.  There I learned a sous vide tip that I use to this day.   I was thrilled to return the favor when Jim and Eileen came to Austin for their 25th.  Got to share my favorite BBQ and Tex-Mex joints. 
His advice to make the very most of the memories you make will stick with me for all my days.  My sincere condolences to Eileen and the kids.  Jim left this world a much better place than he found it!

Jim will always be in memories.  I think we had our own language sometimes whether at meetings or just in conversation.  We really got each other and shared a good friendship.   Midnight shopping with Jim in Annapolis with other work colleagues will always be a highlight.  Stopping for a Tito’s, playing darts  and listening to a one man band was a belly laughing great time.   Rest in peace, friend.

Such a good man.  Was there when you needed him and always fun to be with.  Smart, wise and giving.  Recently through his connections at M & T we were able to get my daughter in to a home she could afford.  Whenever I look at that home now I will think of Jim.  I was honored to be his friend and share part of the life he lived.  Fly high Jim.

My heart breaks for you Eileen and your children. I am thinking of all of you and praying that you are blessed with the strength to persevere through this difficult time.  May God bless Jim. He was a wonderful human and he clearly loved the 4 of you so much.

Always with a smile and an idea for a practical joke 🤭

Jim had a rare gift for seeing potential in people before they could see it in themselves. He knew how to place others in roles where their talents could grow, and he nurtured those gifts with wisdom, encouragement, and trust in a way only he could. He also knew that work should be joyful — he celebrated wins alongside you. I’ll never forget calling him after winning a new client and the two of us laughing and celebrating together.

Jim cared deeply about people beyond the workplace. He always asked about family, and in one especially meaningful gesture, he even sent my parents flowers after we had a big year together. His pride and joy were his wife, daughter, and sons, whom he loved fiercely. Jim’s impact as a leader, mentor, and friend will not be forgotten, and he will be truly missed.

Eileen and family, we are very sorry for your loss. I met Jim at Canisius and then again  the St Joe’s Lasallian each year.  We will keep you all in our prayers during this difficult time. 🙏

Eileen and family, we are  so very sorry for your loss. I've known Jim since our time at Canisius, and both Pat and I worked with him. He was always so full of life, outgoing, and quite the practical joker. We feel truly blessed to have called him our friend, and he will be deeply missed.

Jim was a great friend to us, for so many years. He was always kindhearted and full of joy. That joy spread as he and his family hosted many Smoke on the Water community dinners at their beautiful lake home. We will miss him dearly. We wish Eileen, Ian, Nathan and Ava peace as they grieve. We hope their memories will bring them some of that same joy Jim so generously shared.

Jim was the ultimate “people person.”  He always had a warm greeting and his fun spirit was endearing and contagious.  Great memories at work, playing poker, going to meals in Buffalo and Baltimore, and discussing the art of harmless practical jokes.  Jim always loved talking about his family.  He once met my parents and paid me such a generous and meaningful compliment that I still look back on when I’m feeling down.  The world is a less bright place without his infectious personality. RIP
