I was in my 20s, stupid, a fundamentalist, immature, and full of myself. I was in a car wreck and Rich and Pat came and took my wife and I home from the ER. They gave us a bedroom and food and nursing love and then drove us home. Over the next ten years they adopted us and graced us over and over with selfless generosity. I wished this man and woman were my parents.  Their children are my definition of kindness., a tattoo forever in my heart. I love you forever. sincerely geof.

To the entire Sebian family my deepest condolences to you on the passing of a great man. I had the pleasure of serving your love one at a local bank he visited and was a joy and an honor to help him in any way possible. I left about two months after his passing and just found out .I am so sorry he was a gentle giant and will be missed.

To Family :  I served with Richard in BAsic training  at Camp Seibert Ala.  We kept contact for several years and renewed ater Dustin Kidd, Son jof our Lt. got me back in the loop with Richard and Kowatch.  lI called  him every couple of months or he would call me. I learned about his death because his line had been disconnected and I found this on Google.  I am very sorry. I had some serious heart problems in September and I think I have tem under control.  I thought I would call and got this sad news.  Please accept my sincerest condolence He was a good friend.  and I will miss him. Raymond DeRaymond

Dick carpooled with my dad Eddy Mayer to ub for many years last time seen dick was a couple of years ago when he let me copy his war journal he still had that huge smile and bonecrushing handshake he was a special guy.

My father, George Kowatch, and Mr. Sebian survived WWII together and spoke on the phone nearly every day.  I had the great pleasure of speaking with him a few times myself over the years.  My dad and I were both devastated to learn of his passing. Our prayers go out for his family.  My dad knows he will see his beloved friend Dick again some day.  Our sincere condolences.

My condolences to the family.  Dick was an incredible neighbor and friend.  He was one of the most generous people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  May he find a well earned rest an solace in the hereafter.

Dick: You will be sadly missed by myself and other members of Chapter #187 Purple Heart. I am sorry I could not attend your funeral through my own sickness. The Lord will most certainly receive you as a fine gentleman.

During my time in the administration at SUNY/Buffalo I knew that I could always count on Dick to do what had to be done and do it well. He was a great guy.

The entire Sebian family was dear to the Snyder family for many years. Marcia and I "sat" for the family when Dick and Pat took well deserved breaks. Dick's big smile was exceeded only by his big hands! He was the guy in charge of grounds at UB and he really knew his business. I last ran into Dick at a Houghton College concert and he was smiling as ever!  He will be missed.

Our deepest condolences.  Dick always had a "shout out" whenever he saw me in the yard.  He was a great backyard neighbor.  He lived a great life and was willing to share all that he had with everyone.

He was a great man and like a father to me we will always miss him.

So many fond memories of a man that was always seen with a smile and greeted you with that firm, welcoming hand shake.

So sorry for your loss,I remember your Dad as such a giving person,and a great friend to my father.
