So sorry to hear of your loss! Lou was a great man whose curiosity and intellect was infectious. He lived a great life and Paul and I have shared many wonderful memories with you both. Now Lou and Paul are continuing their joyful chats together. It was a privilege knowing him. Will be in touch!

Mr. Rozanski was one of the first teachers that challenged me to live up to my potential. It was a simple challenge, I was a low C level student that he recommended for AP the following year.  He knew I was capable, but I was just going through the motions.  I am forever grateful for him seeing the potential in me and challenging me to be better.  Rest in peace Mr. Rozanksi and thank you for believing in me.

Coach Rozanski-Rest in Peace.  I was a proud member of coach Rozanski's first wrestling team (1963).  Best coach I ever had.  I graduated in '63 so I only knew him that one season.  Wonderful memories.

My Uncle with a Heart of Gold:

As a young boy, growing  up in a small town of Perry,  it was always great to visit family in East Aurora, New York. It just seemed special. Maybe it was because they were a short distance away from our beloved Buffalo Bills, or the food always seemed so good at the local Inn which served the best ham and pancakes. As I grew up, I realized, it was the Rozanski family, and as my mother would say, Uncle Louie, who had a heart of gold.

Every Christmas Eve, became my favorite day. Although many looked forward to gifts Santa would bring to them, not I. I looked forward to what my Uncle with a heart of gold would bring. They were always thoughtful, with a great deal of effort to be very special. As a big sports person, every Christmas Eve, Uncle Lou would gift wrap the following which gave this little boy from Perry a lifetime of thrills. One year it was a NFL Book of All Stars from 1973-74. The next, Buffalo Braves tickets, which became my instant favorite team before they broke my heart and left. In 1987, tickets to a Buffalo Bills game, and then tickets to a Buffalo Bisons game (attached photo from the game). When times were difficult in college, who showed up, my Uncle with a heart of gold He proceeded to take me to a Toronto Blue Jays game, and some tasty deserts in Buffalo, before returning me to Niagara.

In summary, sometimes in life you are blessed to have wonderful people in your lives. I was extremely fortunate to have Uncle Lou in our lives. Now, perhaps the greatest and most deserved gift, goes to my Uncle with a heart of gold, being in a special place with our Lord! God Bless you Uncle Louie, my Uncle with a heart of gold. 🙏

Rozanski Family,
I am saddened to hear about Mr. Rozanski passing. I have good memories of the few years we lived next door to you.  Mr. Rozanski  was my history class teacher for a few history classes in high school. I always enjoyed his classes.

About 1983 when visiting us in Georgia. We were so glad to remain close friends with the Rozanskis as we moved around the country. For a big wedding anniversary, Trudy and I wrote a silly song about them, featuring Lou's antics over the ages, and had a couple of from the East Aurora Theatre dress in period costume and sing it to them at their Roycroft dinner table.  At Mike's wedding, they had our favorite Buffalo city bread and vino waiting in our hotel room, so at David's wedding, we had a NY cheesecake delivered to their hotel room. Friendships like this are what make life a joy, and I cherish the many years we've had with the Rozanskis. Lou was a brilliant interesting man full of wit and layers. Everyone will miss him. Probably around 1979, typical picture of Lou in the evening. So many happy memories of being next door to the Rozanskis and all the fun times together. One birthday, when the boys were turning 5, I think,
Lou and I cooked up a treasure hunt for the birthday party that had the kids hunting all around our two yards, and at the end, it led them to Lou leaping out from the bushes dressed as a pirate brandishing a plastic sword. Was quite the exciting surprise sensation for the young treasure hunters!  I remember so many sillly antics - Lou half sitting up in a coffin on his porch at Halloween...garage sales galore - antique dealers would start lining up in the street for an hour or more before it began just to see his rugs and new treasures. The Rozanski garage was half antique shop, half bicycle shop. Every night was a cocktail party between our houses - we drank cocktails, Lou had a glass of Manachevitz, followed by cake. Was all fun.

Mr. Rozanski was truly one of kind. He always had a warm smile and a big heart. He went above and beyond to help me pass his final exam in high school. I will never forget his kindness and his passion for teaching.  He was an all around great man and everyone adored him. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

You were one of my favorite teachers of all time. It was great in later years sharing my knowledge about Antiques with you as well as doin a little buying and selling. Fond memories. Thanks Lou.

Wilson Curry

So sad to hear this.  I remember going to the basement wrestling practice room when I was about 8 yrs old.  Brother Lew was on the team and Mr. Rozanski would work with any kids that would show up on Saturdays.  He had no problem hitting the mats with us.  I remember him wrestling Igor Egan in HS who was no push over.  He inspired and challenged us, provoked us to think outside the box, made us better people.  I last saw him at our 50th reunion in the dinner line.  He told me "Go easy on those carbs, Riggin". Thanks for everything Coach!  RIP.

Just yesterday or so it seems he was walking East Aurora with Betsy.  Just yesterday he was a young teacher and coach .  Lou you are missed .

Remembering Lou as a dedicated teacher, wonderful  coach, mentor to many, friend to all, dedicated family man, and community advocate.  He left a lasting impact as an outstanding human being and model for others- a life well and truly lived. Our heartfelt sympathies to Betsey and all who loved him.

Hey Coach:  the world is missing a  good one now.    Your quiet inspiration made me a better person.  Best wishes to your family.

Oh I can’t tell you how heart broken I am . Lou is someone I’ll always remember as the most amazing advocate for not only Jim but all of us at the East Aurora Residence . He gave so much and we received so much  a relentless cheerleader and such an incredible human being . 
  Betsy , Jim and family please know how much Lou / your dad will be missed . I have not been around very much but I did have coffee with Lou when he saw me at Larwoods last year which made my heart so happy.

Lou was a great teacher, coach for wrestling (way back when at EAHS on Main Street about 1965-66) and friend too! Our last chat was a few years ago when my wife Katie  & I visited EA and the Elm Street Cafe and he remembered me and was as cordial and nice as always. Our condolences to his family and friends. Mr Rozanski was such a wonderful social studies teacher who fostered curiosity.   My deepest condolences to the Rozanski family and friends during this difficult time.  🙏🏻

He was a wonderful man and a great social studies teacher to my sister and myself, at the original high school on Main. He was a very kind teacher who really helped us learn.
