Craver, Maureen A. (nee Beitz) of East Aurora, NY entered into rest February 15, 2025. Maureen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul C. Craver. Maureen was a devoted mother to Emily (Greg) Rogers and Allison (Andrew) Gailey; adoring grandmother to Genevieve Rogers and Max Gailey and was eagerly anticipating the birth of her third grandchild due in June; loving daughter of the late Franklin and Marjorie Beitz; the oldest of eight children, survived by Francis Beitz, Joseph (Ellen) Beitz, John (Carole) Beitz, Marjorie (Robert) Bennett, Michael Beitz, Daniel (Christine) Beitz and the late Thomas (Trisha) Beitz.
Maureen passed away after a long period of health issues. Despite these trials, she was still passionate about creating art, enjoyed giving advice to her friends and family, and found humor in unexpected places. She had a curious mind and loved esoteric history, old movies, and thrifting. She talked to her daughters daily, sometimes more.
Maureen possessed a gifted artistic spirit, pouring her creativity into everything she touched. She loved her home and it was her greatest masterpiece. She decorated it with treasures, made stained glass windows, quilts, and collages. Her home is a sanctuary that she lovingly crafted over four decades living in East Aurora. She was an active member of Abigail’s Craft Group, where she found friendship and fulfillment. Maureen leaves behind a legacy of beauty and love. Arrangements by WOOD FUNERAL HOME, East Aurora, NY. No prior visitation. A celebration of life is being planned for later this year, when the days are longer and the air is warm.
“When we die the body breaks open like a river; the old body goes on, climbing the hill.” ~ Mary Oliver
