

DANIELS- Susan B. (nee DiFilippo) of Elma, formerly of East Aurora, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2022. She was predeceased by her amazing parents, Barbara and Tony DiFilippo Jr., her protective older brother, Tony DiFilippo III, and her loving husband Dick Daniels. She is survived by her three sisters and best friends, Elizabeth Fox Hurd (Lorny), Carol Novak and Barb Magee (Dave), sister-in-law Carol Flaherty, 8 nephews (and one deceased), 1 niece and 23 grand nieces and nephews. Sue devoted much of her life to her love of literature and the arts. A member of East Aurora High School class of 1959, after attending George Washington University, receiving her undergraduate degree from SUNY Geneseo and her Masters in Library Sciences from Syracuse University, Sue went on to work for over two decades as a professional librarian. She served as the director of both the Town of Aurora Public Library and the Hamburg Public Library throughout her career, as well as several other librarian positions throughout Western New York and Pennsylvania, including as a reference librarian in the Technical and Scientific Library at the NSWC-Carderock US Naval site. She was active in many library professional associations, and Sue also devoted many years to Zonta of the Aurora Area, the American Association of University Women, and the Town of Aurora Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, among may other organizations, and never ceased in her love for learning. Later in life she attended University of Akron Law School for one year. Sue will be remembered fondly by her family for the epic Thanksgiving feasts she hosted in her ranch home on Deepwood Drive, for the many special trips to Shea's and to Speaker Series events at local universities that she did for her nephews and niece, and for the love of learning and reading that she imparted to all of her family. She was always up for all of the DiFilippo family parlor games played each holiday, and loved chatting about books with family and friends. In recent years, Sue was an enthusiastic and active member of the Elma Public Library.
