Virginia E. Miller

Virginia E. Miller (nee Calkins) of East Aurora, NY passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 97; Born to Bertha and John Calkins. She married Fred A. Malek and had two girls, Betty Jean and Kathleen Sue. When the girls started school, she went also and got her high school diploma. After a move to East Aurora, she married for a second time to Edwin Miller. That marriage made her a stepmother to David, Roy and Daniel Miller.

Edwin and Virginia moved to Holland where they opened a business called the Wine Cellar which they ran successfully for many years and where they formed lasting friendships.

They then lived in Little Valley and Virginia got her nursing degree. After a move to New Port Richey, Florida Edwin worked as a security guard and Virginia was a home health care nurse and where she also pursued her love of writing, especially poetry. Upon Edwin's demise, Virginia lived for years with her daughter's family in West Falls until worsening dementia necessitated a move to Absolute Care of Aurora for specialized care.

Virginia's willingness to take on many challenges and her many achievements stand as a source of pride for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. Rest in peace dear mother.
