Edward Leo Fitzgerald

Edward L. “Leo” Fitzgerald of East Boston passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on May 23, 2012. Loving son of the late Edward L. and Ellen A. (Cohan) Fitzgerald. Beloved husband of the late Thelma F. (Cox) Fitzgerald. Loving father of Debbie Fitzgerald, Edward L. Fitzgerald Jr and his fiancée Stacey Bruno, and John Fitzgerald and his wife Darlene, all of East Boston. Cherished grandfather of Brian Staley, Ashleigh and Derick Fitzgerald. Dear brother of Geraldine Wehrly and her husband John of Williamsburg, VA, Ellen Rowe and her husband Leo of Arlington, Michael Fitzgerald, the late William Fitzgerald and his surviving wife Barbara, and Sarah Hunter; Brother-in-law of George Cox and his wife Louise formerly of Winthrop, Robert Cox and his wife Lorraine of Newtonville, the late Patricia Skane and her surviving husband George, Estelle Lebel and her husband Robert, Edward Cox and his surviving wife Barbara. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Kirby-Rapino Memorial Home, 917 Bennington St. (Orient Heights) EAST BOSTON on Saturday at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston at 10am. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 4-8pm. Services will conclude with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
