Sofia Suarez, 96 years young, of East Boston passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011. She is the daughter of the late Juan and Teresa (Cubillos) Poveda and the beloved wife of the late Juan Bautista Suarez. Sofia is survived by 2 loving children, Rosa Pillar Suarez of Sayreville, NJ and Juan Carlos Suarez of East Boston. She is the cherished grandmother of Rusby, Cristina, Consuelo and Carlos; great-grandmother of Giovanny, Kristy, Cristina and Eleni; and great-great-grandmother of Shayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston. The family received visitors on Tuesday from 4-8pm.
