Alice J. Pedroso

Alice J. Pedroso, 96, of Westerly RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Gaudencio Pedroso. She was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Manuel and Foustina (Branco) Pedroso.

Alice was a loving mother who was devoted to her family. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed dancing but most of all she cherished time spent with her family.

Alice leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Maria Alice Carreira of Charleston, RI, Irene Walsh and her husband Robert of East Hartford, her son Manuel Perreira Pedroso of FL; her six grandchildren, Alice Hickey, Christopher Pedroso, W. Jimmy Jacques, Joseph Walsh, Jessica Walsch and G. Manuel Jacques; her six great grandchildren, Ashley Hickey, John Patrick Hickey, Addison Walsh , Jacob Walsh, Manuel J. Jacques and Ryan Jacques. Alice was predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Jacques.

Funeral services will begin at 8:30AM, on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, at St. Rose Church, 15 Church St. East Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 5 to 8PM, at the funeral home.
