

Constance M. Couture, of East Hartford, 73, passed away unexpected on October 10, 2012. She was born in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Michaud) Martin. Connie was a Data Processor at Travelers Insurance for 35 years, and retired in 2000. After her retirement from Travelers, she worked for the State of Connecticut as a Computer Processor for 10 years and retired in 2010.
She was a communicant of Saint Isaac Jogues Church. She enjoyed knitting, traveling to North Carolina on vacation with her family and “Sunday” drives with her beloved husband Ray. In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by her daughter Melissa Zbell and her husband David of Vernon, two sons Gerard Couture and his wife Jennifer of North Carolina and James Couture of East Hartford, two brothers Allen Martin and his wife Agnes “Tootie” and Gerald “Buzz” Martin and his wife Diana all of Waterbury, one sister Colleen Rakich and her husband Antone of Southbury, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John R. Couture.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9AM from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., followed by her Liturgy of Christian Burial 10AM in Saint Isaac Jogues Church, entombment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, all in East Hartford. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 3-7PM.
