

Delorious Carter 90 of Hartford, CT peacefully transitioned at Hartford Hospital August 27, 2022, Delorious was born to the late James and Victoria Jackson on Aug. 1, 1932, in Jonesboro, North Carolina. She was educated at W. B. Wicker in Sanford, North Carolina school system. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church during the pastoral ship of Rev. William McKissick.
Delorious Carter had a love for children while being employed as a nanny in West Hartford, CT, and later acquired a full-time position with Topps department store in Wilson, CT. Prior to her retirement she was employed at Simpson Waverly Elementary School as a paraprofessional. Where she continued her love for children.
Delorious enjoyed taking grandchildren on bus trips downtown to ride the carousel, visit Buck a book and get her senior coffee and fish at McDonalds. She also enjoyed doing her word search puzzles. Delorious also would enjoy going to Jai Alai and bowling. She also enjoyed cooking for family gatherings to include her special red soul punch and apple crisp. She also had a love for anything sweet especially chocolate and ice cream.
Delorious was predeceased by husband Joseph Carter, in addition to her parents, daughter Lillian V. Moore and sons Norman R. Goldston and Joseph R. Carter. Siblings, Carver Lee, Hattie, Conwell, Kenneth and Naomi. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Thomas H. Goldston of Va., John H Carter (Dawna) of East Hartford, CT and daughters Allean Goldston of Manchester, CT and Versie Carter of Bloomfield, CT. Siblings Agnes Moore of Enfield, CT and Theresa Blue of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Her loving additional generations included eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. A host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Delorious will be celebrated in a private ceremony.
