Born in Rockford, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ziock Boehmen and Isabelle (Geithman) Boehmen and the sister of the late William Boehmen. Dini graduated from West Rockford High School and earned a B.A. in Physical Education and Dance from Denison University in Granville, OH. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and a member of the 2nd Congregational Church in Rockford.
Dini was a longtime resident of East Hartford and South Windsor and took great joy in following the Women’s Huskies basketball team and being a part of her neighborhood and community. She served on the PTA, worked many years as a secretary, volunteered, and loved gardening, golf, musicals & plays, classic movies, puzzles, sewing & knitting, reading, going to tag sales, playing cards, and cats.
Dini’s utmost joy came from her family, especially her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, laughter, and the love and nurturing she shared. In addition, those who knew her will fondly recall her sharp wit, sense of humor, and welcoming personality.
Dini is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Maleskis, her two daughters, Marnie Foran and her husband Nick Foran of East Hartford, and Katy Skaff and her husband Paul Skaff of East Hartford, as well as her grandchildren Nicholas Foran and his wife Liz, Mary Ellen Foran, Rebecca Ritucci and her husband Tommy, and Brianna Skaff, and her seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves sister-in-law, Pamela Harvey of Niagara Falls, NY, and a few extended family members.
