Dorothy Ann Brown

Dorothy A. (Lanagan) Brown of South Windsor, CT passed away on October 5, 2022, at the age of 91. Born August 1, 1931, in New Bedford, MA, she grew up with her two younger brothers, Robert and Kenneth Lanagan. She married Frederick Brown of Florida and moved to East Hartford where they raised their children, Kathleen Marie (Brown) Fornwalt and Thomas Frederick Brown (deceased).

She worked for Dynamic Controls Corporation in South Windsor as a group leader until she retired.

She loved her family.

She liked scratch tickets for the Lottery.

She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.

She was very good at handicrafts such as knitting and crochet,

… and she was very good at speaking her mind.

She will be missed by her daughter Kathleen and her husband Donald Fornwalt, Jr. of Melrose, CT, her grandsons Jonathan Fornwalt of Stafford, Joshua Fornwalt, his wife Joanna and their daughters Josie and June Fornwalt of Enfield, CT, great grandsons Collin Brown of Colchester, Conor Brown (serving in the Air Force), loving former daughter in law Judy Brown of East Hartford. Dorothy was predeceased by her Grandson Thomas A. Brown and Great Grandson Matthew T. Brown.

Family and friends are invited to father with Dorothy's family on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT from 5:00pm-6:30pm with a celebration of life service to follow at 6:30pm.
