

Dorothy (Day) Stankevich 80, beloved wife of Albert and 45 year resident of East Hartford passed away on Tuesday (March 22, 2011) at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. She was born in Waterbury on September 3, 1930 daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Curran) Day. She was raised in Waterbury and moved to East Hartford and had worked as a secretary for Cheney Tech for over 25 years retiring in 1991. She was a longtime communicant of St. Isaac Jogues Church in East Hartford. Along with her loving husband Albert, she is survived by her two sisters Josephine Torrey of Florida and Gertrude Brown and her husband Bob of Morris, CT: her beloved nieces and nephews Bobby Brown of Torrington, Billy Brown and William "Robby" Torrey both of Boston, David Mozley of Narragansett, RI, Francis Day of Goshen, Nancy Day of Waterbury, Susan Day, Carol Ladue and Jim Ladue both of South Windsor, John Ladue of Dublin, NH, Christine Condel of Ellington, Beverly Pitrone of Hebron and Tony Stone of Warwick, RI: along with numerous great nieces, nephews and friends. Besides both her parents she was predeceased by three sisters Mary Day, Eileen Mozley, Alice Day: a brother Frank Day: and a nephew Randy Mozley. Relatives and friends are invited Saturday, March 26 at 9 a.m. to the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Isaac Jogues Church, One Community St., East Hartford.
