Edwin Ortiz, 51, of East Hartford, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford to Marcelino and Maria (Resto) Ortiz. He was a devoted Christian, who always had his Bible with him, letting his faith guide him. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with them.
In addition to his parents, Edwin is survived by his daughter Marisol Lee and her husband Jose; his sisters, Evelyn Ortiz and Beverly Resto and her daughter Mia; his brothers, Marcelino Ortiz and David Ortiz; his two granddaughters, Anushka and Joyce and several special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 10AM, at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT 06118. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, from 5 to 8pm, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108.
