Elizabeth Dickey

DICKEY. Elizabeth Dickey, 86, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late James Dickey, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at home, with family by her side. Elizabeth was born September 28, 1928 in Carrick Fergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, daughter of the late David and Annie Allen, and had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 46 years. She spent several years working in the food service industry, at Nardi’s Bakery and at Generis Caterers. Elizabeth is survived by: 2 daughters Elizabeth Allen of Suffield and Alison Dickey of East Hartford; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law Alan Dickey and Ana Banks of East Hartford, Ian and Suzanne Dickey of San Diego, CA, Paul and Sandra Dickey of New London, and William Dickey of Suffield; 8 grandchildren Maegen, Joshua, Jonathon, Rick, Joanna, Sean, Christine, and Allen; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters in Northern Ireland, other relatives and friends. Calling Hours will be Friday, August 14, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Burial will private and at the convenience of the family.
