

Elizabeth Hendricks, 93, of East Hartford, passed away on May 12, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born on January 8, 1918 in New Haven to the late Frank Lynch and Frances (Noad) Lynch. After graduating from Hillhouse High School, she completed McKeon Business College. She married William Hendricks in 1943. During World War II she was a secretary for the Army Air Force Intelligence Services. After the war ended, she and her husband lived in New Haven, where their daughter, Mary was born. They later resided in Hamden and in 1966 made their home in East Hartford.
Elizabeth was an avid reader and had a keen interest in a wide variety of subjects, especially art, which she studied at Manchester Community College. She also did volunteer work for the Red Cross. She was a tennis fan and loved animals.
In addition to her husband William of 67 years, she is survived by her daughter, Mary H. Glazier, her son-in-law, Penn B. Glazier and her grandson, James H. Glazier, of Conestoga, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, at 9:30 am, at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford. Friends may visit beginning at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
