Gary D. Wilkos, Sr., 62, of East Hartford, passed away on March 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1949, to the late Joseph and Helen (Majewski) Wilkos. He will be dearly missed by his four sons and their families: Gary Jr. and his wife Michele of Newington, Dennis of Newington, Shane and his wife Kim of Ellington, and Justin of Andover. Gary is also survived by his grandchildren; Ashley, Alyssa, Shane Jr., Peyton, Cody, Justin Jr., Nick, Gianna and Mitchell. He also leaves behind his brother Joseph Wilkos and his wife Claire, his sister MaryAnn Lawrence and her husband Allen, and his sister Joanne Gompper. He also leaves many special nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited for a calling hour from 12-1p.m. on Thursday, March 8th at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, with his Celebration of Life service to begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
