Joan M. McSorley

Joan Marie (Norton) McSorley, 78, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully Thursday May 12th, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter to the late George and Catherine (Koch) Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Wendall G. McSorley.

Joan married the love of her life, Wendall, June 18th, 1955. Together they raised three children in East Hartford. She was a very caring and loving woman. She most cherished time spent with her family and friends. She always had coffee and sandwiches ready for family and friends. She loved going to Whaler Hockey games, auto races and spent many summer afternoons at Hampton Beach. She will be missed dearly by many close friends and family members.

She is survived by her sons, Greg McSorley and his wife Linda of Vernon, Dennis McSorley of East Hartford; her daughter, Debra McSorley of East Hartford, her grandchildren, Kelly, Kimberly, Stephen, Austin, Jennifer, Justin, April, Sergio, and Melissa; her great grandchildren, Luis Jr., Marta, Trinity and Angelina; her special and close friends, Sally Hellandbrand and her daughter Debra, Debra Raney, Phyllis McCabe, Thomas and Loretta Allard, Joe Carrier, Jim Brice, the Rainville family, the Young family, Raymond Gates, Mark Weinberg, George Almada and Alan Kaminsky.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, East Hartford.
