Kalyan K. Chakravarti

Dr. Kalyan K. “K.C.” Chakravarti, 83, of Glastonbury, CT, loving husband of 50 years to Shyamali (Ganguli) Chakravarti, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his beloved, caring family on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in his home after a long illness. Born in Bangladesh on April 4, 1940, a son of the late Ramakanta and Mayarani Chakravarti, he had been a resident of Glastonbury for the past 34 years.

Dr. K.C. was a well-known hard working Dentist for over 40 years in the Glastonbury/East Hartford area. Wanting to help others in his community, he was an active member of the Glastonbury Rotary Club for many years and the Masonic Columbia Chapter #28 AF & AM of South Glastonbury. Proud of his Indian heritage, he was a member of the Bengali Association of Greater Hartford (BAGH). Dr. K.C. enjoyed watching James Bond movies, reading books, and traveling back to India. Most of all, he will be remembered as a true gentleman who put his family first. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his time spent with his entire family.

Along with his beloved wife, Dr. K.C. is survived by his two devoted daughters, Nivedita “Mona” Patterson and her husband Jason of Cranford, NJ, and Nandita “Jessica” Chakravarti of Astoria, NY; two adored granddaughters, Zara Patterson and Raina Patterson both of Cranford, NJ; two sisters-in-laws, Maya Avasia and her husband Rohinton of India, and Chhaya Ganguli of India; a brother-in-law, Prabuddha Ganguli and his wife Subhra of India; several nieces, nephews, cousins, former patients, and dear friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Dipankar Chakravarti of India.

A celebration of Dr. K.C.’s life will be on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12 noon at Glastonbury Funeral Home, located at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Dr. K.C.’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning (October 28th) from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home chapel.
