Hello Carol - This is Marcia and Silvio Neville. Armida’s nephew. We are so very sorry to read of Kenny’s passing 😥 I texted him to let him know of  Armida’s daughter, Diana, passing. He didn’t reply as usual and I did some digging. I looked up the Beacon and saw it’s for sale. Then below that, I saw Kenny’s obituary. We are saddened and was hoping to see him at the Beacon this trip. We’re on our way to CT for Diana’s funeral in Enfield this Friday. Kenny was such a great guy and loved you and your son so much. He would always talk about his family. Silvio loved playing setbacks with him and Armida. Our kids were shocked to hear about him and send their condolences. Mark is still in CT but we’re in Ohio with our daughter and her family. Kenny would send me pictures of when he’d put flowers at Armida’s grave every spring. We were so very grateful. Please know we will always remember Kenny and how wonderful he was to Armida and how he became a friend of Silvio’s during that time. Take care and we wish you well and that you will have beautiful memories always.

Kenny was a good man, humble generous and kind, the loss of whom is a loss to all of us, for the world is a darker place when such men are departed. 
Say hi to all the departed for us and I hope to see you all again some day.

Kenny and his family lived across the street from my grandmother on Rose Ave.   They were all so good to her helping her whenever she needed it.   Although Kenny was more friends with my brothers, I do have many good memories of going  trick or treating with him, spending time in our back yard pool where one day he thought I was drowning and he jumped in to save me.    His family intertwined with mine over the years on numerous occasions including some weddings.   He was a very kind and caring person.

I was so sad to hear of Kenny’s passing.  He meant a lot to our family and was my brother Donny’s best friend growing up on Rose Ave.  Even after Donny  died, he kept in touch with us with a phone call or text on holidays or anniversaries.  It meant a lot.
Kenny was so kind and thoughtful, fun loving and humble.  
He brought so much light to others and to this world that truly needs it. 
 What a great legacy!  
Brothers from other mothers, you guys  be at peace in that better place, and stay out of trouble.    ( I can just hear them laughing!)

So sorry to hear of the passing of a long time friend Kenny Bower, I grew up with Kenny he lived right across the street from my grandmother.

Kenny and I played catch daily in my grandmother’s yard or in front of Kenny’s house whether it was with a baseball, football or a frisbee we always had fun those are memories that I will always have.

I remember Kenny always being kind and thoughtful and an all around good guy that will be missed by everyone who ever met him.

I knew Kenny best and spent the most time with him during my college years when I worked at the tax department in the summer. Kenny was part of a fun-loving group of young adults who formed baseball teams, drank and danced at West Hartford night spots, and hit Rhode Island beaches on weekends. 
After a blizzard that wiped out electricity for days, his family in Enfield took me in and gave me a warm place to sleep. His mom and dad were lovely people and Kenny was one of the kindest, most generous and caring people I’ve known. A treasure in my life’s path.
My deepest condolences to Carol and your family. May your memories of happy days with Kenny bring you comfort and peace.

Ken was kind, benevolent, upbeat, generous, a good listener, a brother, and easy to be around. Ken was not just an owner of a bar, but that he owned it and was the center of that Beacon universe, for so many people, for so long.  Ken was a modest man, and would probably blush upon reading these meager words that belie the full measure of the man he was.
  Ken’s passing has closed the book on the shared experiences of so many patrons, but the memories of our time in his presence are a nimbus of hope that, one day, we will all gather at that great watering hole in the sky.
