

Margaret M. (Manning) Esons, 89, passed away peacefully at home, as she wished, on Wednesday November 19, 2014. A lifelong resident of East Hartford, she was born on July 2, 1925 daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Cooney) Manning. She was the beloved wife of the late Benedict H. Esons.
After graduating from East Hartford High School, she worked for Dovelette’s Paper before marrying Ben. After they married, she lived a fulfilling life supporting the business administrative duties of Ben’s home building company. She was a loving and attentive mother and homemaker. She was a devoted member of St. Rose and St. Isaac Jogues Church, taught Sunday school and participated in the Mother ‘s Circle & Ladies Guild. She opened her home and welcomed everyone, including inner city children, extended family and a large circle of friends. She loved to laugh, cook, bake and entertain.
Margy had the gift of finding happiness and joy in small things and in those around her. She perfected the art of appreciation.
Margaret is survived by her three children; son Tim Esons and his wife Nao Rosenberg of Hingham, MA, daughter Susan Esons of North Grosvenordale, CT., son Steven Esons and his wife Karin Ash of Charlestown RI., grandchildren; JoHannah Ash (Michael Grigelevich), Amanda, Brendan, Connor (Carolyn), David and Ben Esons, great grandchildren James Grigelevich and Taj Esons, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Daniel, William, and Dennis Manning, sisters Elizabeth Simmons, Mary Lindquist, Helen Foley, Jane and Beverly Manning.
Margaret loved her home, and we thank all the people that helped her live a happy contented life there.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 21, from 4-7pm, at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108.
Funeral services will begin at 9am, on Saturday November 22nd, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, in St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community St. East Hartford. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
