

Margaret Adele Krause (aka Adele, Sis, Bucky, Mom, Oma, Rosita and GG) passed away peacefully on July 20, 2011. She was born in New York on March 27, 1919 and was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Harold Krause. Adele leaves and will be forever remembered by her loving son Pete Krause, her beloved grandson and granddaughter-in-law Ed and Carey Krause and her treasured great grandchildren Harry and Hannah Krause.
She lived in Old Greenwich, CT her entire life. Adele loved life and was often the life of the party. She always welcomed all to her home, nicknamed The Shady Rest, where many times her son’s fellow Cadets from West Point would spend the night. She loved listening to her music, playing the piano and always drove a convertible. She never minced her words with her trademark sense of humor and sharp wit. She was an accomplished cook, enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially her family’s dogs. Adele will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church, 108 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, CT. There will be a reception following the service at Mianus River Boat and Yacht Club, 98 Strickland Rd., Cos Cob, CT.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent in her memory to Greenwich Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center, c/o Greenwich Hospital Foundation, 5 Perryridge Rd., Greenwich, CT 06830.
