Marie E Kostek

Marie “Elaine” (Jean) Kostek of Manchester, CT returned to God on Saturday, July 5th. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Leonard F. Kostek (together for 50), Marie was born October 7th, 1944, in Hartford, CT to the late Joseph Jean and Lillian (Rusell). She was a graduate of Hartford Public High School class of 1963.

She loved to travel with her husband, Lenny. They went on many cruises to Florida, Bermuda, Virginia Beach, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and other islands in the Caribbean. She also went on several cruises with her late sister Andrea, which included Hawaii. She also went on a cruise to the Caribbean with her daughter, Cheryl.

She loved to do crosswords, bingo, sudoku, and loved her teddy bears. She worked for Precision Optical and retired from JC Penny after 22 years.

She is survived by her two daughters Robin Marino and Cheryl King (Carlos) - who was with her every step of the way, three stepchildren Deborah Surdel, Leonard E. Kostek and Troy Jones Sr. (Sarah), ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her two sisters Denise Jean and Deborah Boyington (Ray), her brother-in-law Richard Kostek (Madeline), many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, her son Robert King Jr, her brother David “Joe” Jean, her grandson Dominic Marino, her stepson Trevor “Sean” Kostek, her brother Peter “Rusty” Jean, and two sisters Donna Kaszowski (John) and Andrea Bryant.

Calling hours will take place from 4-7pm on Tuesday July 22nd at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home on 318 Burnside Avenue in East Hartford. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday July 23rd at 10am, followed by a graveside committal at St. James Cemetery in Manchester.
