

Nicola D’Aloisio, 87, of East Hartford, passed away on July 22, 2017 at his family’s home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley D’Aloisio. Nicola was born on November 4, 1929 in Hartford, to Venanzio and Elise previously residing in Hartford before settling to East Hartford.
He was a graduate of Porter & Chester Technical School. Mr. D’Aloisio was employed by Royal Typewriter, Universal Design retiring in 2002. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Army. He was a parishioner of St. Christopher’s Parish and a member of the East Windsor Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed target shooting, building model airplanes, and taking care of his family. He was a dedicated & loving husband and father to his family.
Nicola is survived and will be dearly missed by his two sons, Nicholas D’Aloisio and his wife Laurie of Tolland, Robert D’Aloisio of Los Angeles, CA., two daughters, Patricia D’Aloisio of Anaheim, CA., Lorraine Sullivan and her husband Rod of Davie, FL, brother Jimmy of Glastonbury, sister Mary of East Hartford, 5 grandchildren; Stephen, Nicole, Alexis D’Aloisio, Morgan Sullivan, Kellen Hicks, and 2 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley since 2006.
Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 4-7pm., at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. Funeral services begin at 11am on Thursday July 27, at the funeral home, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon at St. Christopher’s Campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford CT.
