Richard Gagnon, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 11, 1950, in St. Agatha, Maine, to the late Antoine and Irene (Ringuette) Gagnon.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Linda, his constant companion who always stood by his side. He leaves behind two children: his daughter, Laurie Mascaro of Suffield, and his son, Scott Gagnon and wife Debbie of Plainville. Richard was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren who brought great joy to his life: Seth, Kyle, Gage, Mackensie, and Ethan. Richard is also survived by his mother-in-law Corinne Chasse of St. David, Maine, his sister-in-law, Jeanne Gagnon of St. Agatha, Maine and several nieces and nephews. Richard is pre-deceased by his brother, Robert.
Richard worked as a machinist at Stanadyne for over 30 years before retiring to spend time with his wife and enjoy his hobbies.
An avid Red Sox fan, Richard rarely missed a game, cheering for his team through every season. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, immersing himself in arts and crafts, and relaxing while watching his favorite westerns.
Richard’s quiet nature, sense of humor, and his many stories of life growing up in northern Maine, will be deeply missed.
A private service for immediate family will be held at a later date to honor Richard’s life.
