Richard Timothy Moynihan Jr., 61, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, while at home. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Richard was known for his big heart, unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and his passion for sports. A lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Manchester United FC, he brought that same spirit and enthusiasm to the countless hours & years that he spent coaching and refereeing. He coached his children in sports from tiny tots to college.
Richard's greatest joy in life came from his family his children and grandchildren were his entire world. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines or simply spending time together, he poured his love and energy into every moment.
He enjoyed hunting and the companionship of his beloved pets. Richard taught his family everything he knew. He once dropped everything & drove four hours to help his daughter install a sub-pump in her basement after it flooded. Richard taught his middle son everything he knew about construction. He never missed any of his youngest son's soccer games. He was extremely proud of all the many achievements of his children. He was especially proud that both of his grandsons carry his name, a tribute that reflects the deep love and admiration his children have for him.
Richard is survived by his wife Naomi; his parents Richard and Lorraine; his children Sara and her husband Patrick Rogers, Edward and his wife Danielle, and Patrick; and his cherished grandchildren, Paxton Richard Moynihan Rogers, Warren Richard Moynihan, Carmella Ambrosia, and Kendall Castellano.
His legacy of love and loyalty will live on in all who knew him.
