Robert Paul Fournier Sr.

Robert Paul Fournier, Sr, 62, of East Hartford, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. The beloved husband of Sharon (Parent) Fournier, Robert was born November 14, 1950 in Lowell, MA, son of the late Robert A. and Reine (DuPuis) Fournier. Bob loved camping and cruising, and was a devoted food connoisseur. A long-haul trucker, he logged many miles with his loyal German Shepard “Pee” by his side, and for the last 9 years was inseparable from his Dachshund “Dexter”. Blessed with a great sense of humor, Bob loved telling jokes and making others laugh. In addition to his wife Sharon, Bob is survived by a son Robert Jr and his wife Tisa; a daughter Simone; 2 step-daughters Aimee Oliveras and her husband Orlando, and Erin Senel and her husband Deniz; a step-son Scott Richard and his wife Erika; a brother Col. James Fournier; 2 sisters Michelle Dickinson, and Margery McCray and her husband Robert; a sister-in-law Karen Riordan; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was pre-deceased by a brother-in-law Roger “Zeke” Dickinson. Calling Hours will be from 5-8pm on Monday, September 2nd, at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Funeral Services will begin at 9am Tuesday, September 3rd, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Memorial Contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to St. Rose Church.
