Stanley Slade Tuller Jr.

Born on September 27, 1934 in Hartford, CT., he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Emma

R. Tuller. He grew up in East Hartford, and was a 1952 graduate of East Hartford High School,

where he was the co-captain of the basketball team. He was also a graduate of The Morse

School of Business.

Stanley was an active communicant of St. Rose Church, where he served as an usher and was

involved in many church committees throughout the years. He was a dedicated manager at

Harmac’s Men’s Clothing in Hamden, CT. and later worked many years for the Town of East

Hartford, as a greenskeeper at the East Hartford Golf Course. Stanley also worked at Callahan

Funeral Home retiring at the age of 85. For 55 years Stanley greeted countless grieving families

as they walked through the doors of the funeral home with his warmth and compassion.

Stanley was very proud to be a longstanding member of the Irish American Home Society

where he served as co-chair of the East Hartford Parade Committee. In 2006

he was incredibly proud and honored to be the Grand Marshall of the Greater Hartford Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.

Stanley was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the UCONN Women’s Basketball

Team. He was a member of the East Hartford Town Employees Golf League for many years.

Stanley was an avid gardener, generously sharing his abundance of vegetables with family, friends and neighbors. He looked forward to his Sunday visits to Lusa’s Farm Stand. One

of his most favorite memories was spending his vacation each year with his family at Cornfield

Point in Old Saybrook.

Stanley married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Sheila, on May 7, 1955. Together, they proudly raised their eight children in the wonderful Wind Road neighborhood.

Beside his wife and parents, Stanley was predeceased by his beloved son Richard,

son-in-law Marty Hasting, his brother Bradford, sister Joyce Kelley, and brothers-in-law Daniel (Babe) Pandiscia and I. Ronald (Moose) Trinks.

Stanley’s legacy will be carried on by his dearly loved children and their spouses, Cheri Tuller, John and Sandi Tuller, Ellen Hastings, Maureen and Dino Peruccio, Thomas and Lorraine Tuller, Anne and Mitchell Dlubac, Carolyn and Timothy O’Connor, and Stephen Tuller. He loved being Papa to his cherished grandchildren, Christine and Mike Silva, Courtney Stone and Dana Aiken, Bryan Tuller, Edsel and Mary Rodriguez, Sean and Caitlin Hastings, Kevin Hastings, Kara, Caitlin, and Carly Peruccio, Bethany and Kelsey Tuller, Shauna Dlubac and her fiancé Connor LaFlamme, Erin Dlubac and her fiancé Tyler Brechbiel, Patrick and Sarah O’Connor, Michaela and Tim Kneuer, and Christopher (Charlie) O’Connor, his precious great grandchildren, Olivia and Alex Silva, Brody and Mia Stone, Julian and Faith Aiken, Edsel Rodriguez, and Clara Jane Hastings.

He also leaves his beloved sister Nancy Trinks, sister-in-law Ellen Pandiscia, and brother-in-law

William Kelley, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stanley was a personable man and a friend to all. He leaves his dear cherished neighbors

Jessie and Betty Dowdy, special friend Sue Luneau, coworkers at Callahan Funeral Home, and numerous treasured friends.

The family wishes to thank Hartford Hospital Hospice Team and dedicated caregiver Donna

Reel for their compassionate care. Also, tremendous gratitude goes out to Marsha Binns Foster

of Golden Age Home Care who went above and beyond in providing thoughtful, professional,

and loving care of Stanley in the final months of his life.

Memorial Donations may be made in Stanley’s name to the Irish American Home Society

Scholarship Fund or The Jimmy Fund.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St. East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Burial will follow immediately in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, August 9th, 3-8 pm at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford.
