Stephanie C. Martin

Stephanie C. Martin, 98, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on June 10th, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward G. Martin. Stephanie was born on December 18, 1916 in Hartford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Szrom. Stephanie was a longtime parishioner of St. Isaac Jogues Church; she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt. Stephanie will be dearly missed by her family, sisters Agnes Zdrojony and Emily Palmese, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Stephanie is predeceased by her sisters Frances Rychwicki, Janet Pugliese, Helen Nowak, Anna Wolf, Charlotte Knybel, Victoria Bujak, Gladys Theriault, and a brother John Szrom. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Stephanie's caregivers and the Masonicare Hospice staff for their compassionate care. A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 12, from 9-10am at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at 10:30am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 1 Community St., East Hartford. Burial to conclude services in Hillside Cemetery.
