

Sylvio Pinette, Age, 86, of Bristol, Beloved widower of Anita Pinette & Aline Pinette passed away on 5/17/12 after a period of declining health. He was born, September 19, 1925, in Fort Kent Maine to the late Levite and Marguerite (Corbin) Pinette.
Sylvio served in the United States Navy from December 22, 1943 until his discharge in 1946. He moved to Connecticut after his military service, and began his lifelong career as a Baker, working at retail bakeries throughout the Hartford area. Sylvio was known for creating a variety of pastries, most notably his famous ragulah. He continued to work as a baker until he was nearly eighty years old. Sylvio was a resident of East Hartford for 40 years until moving to Bristol. He had been a member of St. Rose church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Sylvio enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and gardening. He enjoyed woodworking and crafted a variety of items including bird houses- sharing them with family and friends. He had a warm heart and will be most remembered for his infectious smile.
Sylvio was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Anita and was predeceased by his first wife Aline. He is survived by his children, Paul Pinette and his wife Christine of Bristol, Michelle Jeannotte and her husband Michael of Northwood NH, Elaine Amato and her husband Mario of Conway, SC, Donna Vozzolo and her husband Rick of East Hartland, John La Pointe and his wife Dori of East Hartford, Phillip La Pointe of West Granby; his Brother Reynolds Pinette and his wife Betty of Manchester; his 7 Grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 21. Family & friends are asked to gather at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St, East Hartford where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108, on Sunday May 20th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
