

Thomas Albert Hanrath, 75, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on August 3, 1941, in Pittsfield, MA, the son of the late Albert and Mary Hanrath. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Saltarella) to whom was not only a husband for 49 years, but also a best friend.
Thomas served in the United States Army as part of the National Security Agency. He was a long time employee of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, as a Quality Control Inspector. Tom was a Little League Coach for many years and was very proud to be able to encourage and develop the abilities of many youth in the area. Above anything in his life, family was the most important to him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family.
Thomas will be dearly missed by his family; loving wife Patricia, daughter Barbara Fargo and her husband Robert of Watertown, NY., son David Hanrath and his wife Susan of Coventry, 4 grandchildren; Haleigh Flint of Watertown, NY, Lexie, Sammie & Jessica Hanrath of Coventry.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4-7pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. All are welcome to gather the following day, Tuesday July 25, at 10:30am followed immediately with a prayer service at 11:00am all at the funeral home.
