Anna Allen, born AnnaLee Leslie Estelle Combs was the fourth child of Ira Sr. and Hazel Combs of Westland Michigan. She was a graduate of Inkster High school, obtained a Bachelor, Master, and PHD in Education from Michigan State University.
Anna was the founder and operator of 3 daycare centers (Jackson Community Preschools and Cassy's Playhouse) of Jackson Michigan for over 20 years providing exceptional daycare services to the community. Her child care centers were so acclaimed, she went on to win the women’s worker of the year award in 1999 where she was honored in front of a crowd of 70,000 in attendance at the Grand ole opry in nashville TN. She was also the Assistant Dean of Wheaton College in Boston Massachusetts for a number of years, Professor at Baker College, And Diversity Lead at Michigan State University.
Anna further served as a young minister and missionary at Christ Temple Church of Lansing Mi and sat under the teachings of the late Bishop David L Ellis of Detroit Mi, where she went on to teach/evangelize in the building and preached on the streets to save souls. Anna was a soloist for the jackson symphony orchestra. She was a frequent guest Choir director for the Michigan State Children's choir. Anna was an extraordinary mother and God led in all her actions. Anna leaves behind a beautiful and talented daughter Cassandra Allen and 6 sisters and 3 brothers which include; Janice Spencer, Ivy Nichols, Teresa Richardson, Ira Combs Jr. Jacqueline Lawreys, LaDonna Christian, William Combs, Carla OConnell and Carlton Combs. She was the epitome of a woman of God and will be dearly missed.
