Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara Jean (Warren) Stuible, passed away in East Lansing, MI on February 15, 2024 at the age of 89. Barbara was born on March 11, 1934 to Horace and Minnie Warren. She enjoyed her childhood in Williamston and Howell with her loving parents and five siblings and touched the lives of many with her kind and generous spirit throughout the years.
Barbara was married to Walter Stuible for 66 years and together they raised four children: Neal (LuAnn) Stuible, Dane (Cathy) Stuible, Nancy (Lee) Schaffert and Judy (Randy) McCowan. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her eleven grandchildren; Scott (Christina), Chad (Mikah), Kelly (Chris), Curtis (Jessica), Kevin (Mary), Craig (Leslie), Hannah (Aaron), Nicholas (Renee), Kirsten (Matt), Shay (Tony), and Connor, all of whom cherished their time with her. She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren who loved her beyond measure; Julia, Lily, Loretta, Ruby, Claire, Eleanor, Ronni, Lucy, James, Sylvia and Josiah.
Barbara is survived by her children and grandchildren, sister-in-law Helen Ramsey, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Conning, Tommy, Bruce and Gordon Warren and Peggy White; and her loving husband, Walter F. Stuible. Barb and Walt traveled the country in their RoadTrek visiting family in California and Florida, sightseeing along the way. They also enjoyed a wonderful adventure in Alaska with their daughters several years ago. Later, Barb had the opportunity to travel to Seattle by train to spend time with her brother Bruce.
While she appreciated time working outside the home at Knapps and MSUFCU, the time spent with her family was dearly treasured. It brought Barb tremendous joy to raise her family, then to help her adult children with projects, and babysit with grandchildren. She attended all of the various activities enjoyed by the grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren throughout the years. She took pleasure in her volunteer work for the Sparrow Hospital Gift Shop, and in her spare time was an avid reader and loved doing jigsaw puzzles.
Barbara Jean Stuible lived a long life filled with love, kindness and selflessness. She left an indelible impact on her family and friends. The world is less bright without her, but Barb’s considerate and thoughtful spirit will be carried on for generations to come.
