Mrs. Wheeler, 85, went home to the angels on the 3rd of May, 2012. Waiting for her was her loving husband of 58 years, Richard Wheeler, and also her parents, Merrill and Iva Proctor.
The Proctors were one of the earliest pioneer families to settle in Okemos in the early 1800’s. She spent her entire life in Okemos. She loved her family and friends dearly, and will be missed.
Barbara is survived by her three sons- Dean, Larry (Julie), and Ronald (Joanne); sister Jeanette Rose; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, May 20, 2-4 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing.
