

Floyd “Buddy” Jones was born on July 28, 1920 in Detroit, the son of Louis and Camille Jones, and passed away July 13, 2015 at the age of 94. Floyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a long time member of Alpha Omega Fraternity and belonged to St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He retired as a supervisor in the mental health field. Floyd was a master bridge player and was known to have quite the “sweet tooth”. He always followed his heart and will be dearly missed by all his family and anyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jeanette Hill and Bernice Henderson. Surviving to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Marilynn of 21 years; children, Blake (Kelly) Wilson, Karen (Bob) Schroeder, Steve (Jacqui) Mittleman, David (Laura) Mittleman, Kevin Mittleman; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandi, Kale, Lauren, Connor, Kori, Jodie (Mike), Ryan, Samantha (Craig), Elaina, and Maegan; great-grandchildren, Phoenix, TJ, Sadie and Tucker; brother, Alan (LaVata) Jones. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 2~5 PM on Thursday, July 16th at Gorsline Runciman East Lansing Chapel and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
