Carol Jean Christy

Carol Jean Christy, age 67, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born September 14, 1956, the daughter of Phillip and Dorothy Christy. She is survived by her brother, James (Angela) Christy; niece and nephew, Makenna and Max Christy; numerous cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1974 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Michigan University in 1978. In 1980 she received a Master's Degree in Education from Michigan State University.

Carol was a teacher for 38 years in the DeWitt Public Schools, where she coached girls' basketball and volleyball. Several of her students went on to play college sports. She participated in the student exchange program, travelling to Japan.

Carol enjoyed spending summers at Lake Michigan, where she hosted family and friends at the family cottage. She loved travelling, both throughout the United States and internationally. Carol loved spending time with her niece and nephew and looked forward to their nightly video calls. Carol was an active member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, where she played in the bell choir for 20 years. Carol was a generally happy person who had many close friends.
