

Catherine "Katie" Virginia (nee Paris) LeVeque, age 100, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 in East Lansing, Michigan. Katie was born on February 16, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Frank and Sonta (nee Mascaro) Paris. Katie graduated from St. Gregory High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Katie enjoyed raising her 12 children, taking care of her pets, baking, yodeling, spending time with and praying for all of her friends and family, exercising, playing and watching sports (Go Tigers!). She even played on a women's baseball team during World War II, while her husband was at war. Katie loved fiercely, making each and everyone she came into contact with feel like they were the only one in the room. Katie will be remembered for her faith, and illuminating the room and hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Katie's memory will be held in the hearts of those she leaves behind to carry the legacy of love forward for generations to come. She is survived by ten of her children: Frank (Joanne) LeVeque, Dorothy (Gilbert) Snay, Alec (Louise) LeVeque, Janet (John) Davenport, Charles (Charmaine) LeVeque, Virginia (the late Gary) May, Robert LeVeque, James (Sue) LeVeque, Patrick (Lori) LeVeque, and William (Cindy) LeVeque; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sonta Paris; her husband, Leo LeVeque, Sr.; two sons, Richard LeVeque and Leo (Linda) LeVeque, Jr.; seven siblings: Frank (Margaret) Paris, Geraldine (Albert) Leger, Betti (Victor) VanKainen, Richard Paris, Marie (Charles) Boyton, and Roberta (Jack) Govan; and two granddaughters, Jackie (William) Lewis and Karen LeVeque.
The family will greet guests from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Gorsline Runciman- East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Rd., East Lansing, Michigan. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm; Father William Turner officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30am on Saturday, November 1 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing. In state from 10:30am until time of mass.
